About

The National Science Foundation's Advancing Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (ADBC) program seeks to enhance and expand the national resource of digital data documenting existing vouchered biological and paleontological collections and to advance scientific knowledge by improving access to digitized information (including images) residing in vouchered scientific collections across the United States.

The ADBC program consists of hundreds of institutions from around the country and organized into over 20 (and growing) distinct Thematic Collections Networks that are working to digitize and mobilize data pertaining to a specific research theme or taxonomic group. You can find a curated list of these programs here: https://www.idigbio.org/content/thematic-collections-networks

Each TCN has their own education and outreach goals and projects. The network also works together on education and outreach initiatives through the E&O Working Group.
