About

This group meets at Baltimore Undergound Science Space (BUGSS). Based on the success of the BAG course at BUGSS (see here), we have established a team to further develop the Scramble system. As a first step, we're developing an educational module centered on the process of "troubleshooting" or "debugging" using a combination of the Scramble system and heterologous pigment pathways. By "Scrambling" the yeast, we hope to get variations in colony colors. We can then teach students to troubleshoot and understand why some colors might produce a greater or lesser amount of pigment variation. This will also introduce systems thinking regarding how Scrambling the yeast chromosomes can affect pigment pathways. Join the project to follow our progress!
