Description

Tiny Earth is a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) with the goal of studentsourcing the discovery of new antibiotics from soil. First taught in 2012 by Prof. Jo Handelsman, it is now taught by 700+ instructors in 23 countries to tens of thousands of students each year. The poster provides a general overview of the Tiny Earth network and approach to antibiotic discovery through the CURE. In response to COVID-19, the network is also currently working to create digital adaptations to the CURE and instructor training that will support flexible teaching online or in the lab as needed in the 2020-21 academic year.
