Description
This Right to Know document (RTK) follows best practices of increasing communication between field members. Taken from the legal concept, participants have a right to know the risks they encounter when participating in fieldwork. This document serves as a template for constructing project-specific RTKs. The goals of this document are two-fold: to inform technicians of expectations regarding fieldwork risks and codes of conduct to facilitate informed consent and to provide guidance as supervisors and technicians use this tool to maintain communication between all field members. A strong lab safety plan requires a reciprocal relationship between supervisor(s) and their technicians. The RTK is broken into several sections each with their own specific objectives. The module also contains several appendices and supporting resources for field teams to build their own.
