Description
This resource prepares BioGraphI Faculty Mentoring Network (FMN) leaders for organizing the FMN, and preparing for and facilitating each meeting. During a BioGraphI FMN, leaders guide participants to create a BioGraphI module. BioGraphI modules address data literacy while fostering diversity in undergraduate biology classrooms. They are lessons about graph and data interpretation, featuring the scientific contributions of biologists who are members of historically excluded groups (HEGs). The video interviews with these biologists allow students to hear directly from HEGs about their discoveries.
This resource ensures consistency in the structure of the FMN from cohort to cohort. In addition, because the leader guide is comprehensive and detailed, FMN leaders can devote more of their energies toward facilitating discussions and cultivating interaction among participants.
