QUBES Faculty Mentoring Fellows Program - A great first cohort!
During the Spring of 2017, QUBES launched a new initiative – the Faculty Mentoring Fellows Program. Individuals with interesting instructional ideas and cool materials to share with others were recruited to become fellows and to lead upcoming QUBES Faculty Mentoring Networks.
The 2017 QUBES Faculty Mentoring Fellows are:
Hong Qin, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
Erin Bodine, Rhodes College
Holly Gaff, Old Dominion University
Maria Hernandez, North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics
Ben Galluzzo, Shippensburg University
Louise Mead, BEACON Center for the Study of Evolution in Action and Michigan State University
Tanya Dewey, Animal Diversity Web and Colorado State University
Fellows met online to learn how QUBES Faculty Mentoring Networks operate, how they could best reach out to share their educational know-how and materials with others via QUBES, and develop plans for Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 Faculty Mentoring Networks.
Perks of the program include formal recognition, funding to attend the BioQUEST/ QUBES/ Science Case Net workshop (https://qubeshub.org/groups/summer2017) this past July at Michigan State University, and support as they implement their own outreach via QUBES Faculty Mentoring Networks.
