Our Mission

The mission of the Quantitative Undergraduate Biology Education and Synthesis (QUBES) project is to improve learning opportunities for all students enrolled in undergraduate biology courses by reflecting the centrality of quantitative approaches in modern biology.

The five major QUBES initiatives include:

• QUBES Consortium:  coordinating the efforts and resources of disparate communities invested in promoting quantitative biology education;
• QUBES Faculty Mentoring Networks:  supporting faculty understanding and implementation of specific quantitative biology concepts and teaching approaches;
• QUBES Hub:  increasing the visibility, utility, and adoption of existing quantitative biology materials and the capacity for peer educator interaction;
• QUBES Metrics:  quantifying and tracking faculty contribution to quantitative biology education scholarship; and,
• Implementation Research:  studying and disseminating the features of QUBES that increase implementation success.

 

 

What is QUBES Hub?

This web site is a resource for education, research and collaboration in quantitative biology.   It hosts various resources which will help you learn and teach in the field of quantitative biology, including Teaching Materials, Models, Data, and more. These resources come from contributors in our community, and are used by visitors from all over the world. QUBES also offers Software, some of which can be executed directly within your web browser, thus allowing you to use simulations and data analysis as part of your teaching and learning in quantitative biology without having to go through the lengthy install process.

Join Us

• Create your own account. It's free and will give you access to our online simulation tools and other features.
• Create your own private user group and collaborate privately with students and colleagues that you invite.
• Become a contributor by uploading your own presentations and simulation tools for others to share.
• Ask a question in our community forum, and let the community help you out.
