About

We have designed a plug-and-play CURE model that allows students to learn the process of science, specific skills (e.g., sampling, sample processing, metabolomics plates, PCR, sequencing, ecological health analysis methods, etc.), and science communication. The CURE is adaptable and modularized, allowing learners and educators to mix-and-match methods and resources for active learning. Our CUREs are all centered on microbial diversity and ecology, and were originally based on the TinyEarth and Small World Initiatives. Students will be able to publish their data into internal databases and the to the OneHealth Initative. We will build on the Working Group products in a Spring 2023 FMN to develop a resource page of CURE methods and related resources, to expand on the plug-and-play CURE model.
