Description
In this recorded slideshow, we will propose a strategy for integrating the knowledge and skills necessary for mining digitized biodiversity into a course or series of courses. We will provide an overview of existing curricular materials, developed by the Biodiversity Literacy in Undergraduate Education (BLUE) RCN-UBE, designed to help instructors integrate these biodiversity data literacy competencies into typical foundational Biology courses. We will also describe how structured, guided, and open inquiry activities using digitized natural history collections can be used as stand-alone activities investigating specific concepts or sequenced in a course-based undergraduate research experience.
