Week 2: What is inclusion?
Week 2 (February 11/13): What is Inclusion?
This week we'll consider different aspects of inclusivity and ways of structuring our activities and classroom to be more inclusive. There are three suggested readings to help you to think through these opportunities. You're not required to complete all the readings, but you can use these resources to think about inclusivity and opportunities for building an inclusive classroom.
Reading: all readings are also available as PDFs at this Google Drive link

- Creating Accessible Learning Environments (focused on framing and creating access for students with disabilities): https://cft.vanderbilt.edu/guides-sub-pages/creating-accessible-learning-environments/

Pre-discussion Question: What’s an experience that you’ve had (in a classroom, conference, or anywhere) where you felt included? What aspects of the format, structure, resources, people, planning led to that sense of inclusion?
Assignment: Think about your students’ experiences in your class; how might you adapt your TIEE module (or other aspects of your teaching) to be more inclusive?
