ESA Scaling Up FMN (2016)
TIEE modules
The "Scaling Up" faculty mentoring network will focus on 7 TIEE modules. These modules use ecological data sets collected at the population, community, and landscape scales, to help prepare students for the challenges of working with larger data sets.
List of focal TIEE modules (Scaling up from populations to landscapes):
- Performing a population viability analysis from data students collect on a local plant (Noah Charney, Hampshire College, Sydne Record, Harvard, 2013)
- Demography from physical cemeteries, “virtual cemeteries,” and census data (Janet Lanza, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2012)
- Exploring the population dynamics of wintering bald eagles through long-term data (Julie Beckstead*, Gonzaga, Alexandra Lagasse & Scott Robinson, BLM Coeur d’Alene Field Office ID, 2011)
- Investigating the footprint of climate change on phenology and ecological interactions in north-central North America (Kellen Calinger*, The Ohio State University, 2014)
- Drivers of avian local species richness: continental-scale gradients, regional landscape, or local land cover? (Tom Langen*, Clarkson, 2012)
- Changes in Lake Ice: Ecosystem Response to Global Change (Robert Bohanan, UW Madison, Marianne Krasney, Cornell, Adam Weiman, Cornell, 2005)
- Global Temperature Change in the 21st Century (Daniel Taub & GIllian Graham, Southwestern University, 2011)
