BRISCLab (Black Representation in the Science/STEAM Curriculum Lab)

Welcome to BRISCLab! I’m truly excited to embark on this journey with you. BRISCLab is a space to engage in understanding what is important to consider in representation of Blacks in the science curriculum. On the way to discovering this, we will inevitably integrate interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary content and approaches which are important for literacy and mathematics. While my area expertise and focus are K-12 Science/STEAM curriculum, this lab is beneficial to all in STEAM at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a space where we should begin to redefine and re-think important considerations for inclusion of Black representation in all curriculum areas. What is important to note is that this lab considers the benefit of using science as way of knowing and discovery.
