2020 Deep Teaching Residency
Accommodations
Attire
- Attire at HHMI is generally business casual: You rarely see shorts and T-shirts (unless someone is coming from the gym) or a coat and tie. We suggest business casual attire for the entire week. The DC area looks to be mid 40s in the day time and low 30s at night, but temperatures do fluctuate. We will mostly be indoors but do dress appropriately for winter weather.
- Several people have inquired about laundry service: There is no guest laundry facility onsite; information about a local service (available for a fee) will be provided at check-in.
Fitness and Accommodations
- We have a great, free fitness center (including weight rooms and cardio equipment, but not a pool) and places to walk or run outdoors.
- Each guest room has a private bathroom, queen-size bed, desk and chair, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, alarm clock, standard toiletries and complimentary wireless internet access. The HHMI Conference Center does not have the capacity to extend accommodations to spouses or family members -- only meeting participants may stay onsite and participate in the meeting activities.
Meals
- Please know that we will take good care of you when you are here. Meals, snacks, and drinks will be provided and plentiful starting on Sunday, January 5th at noon through lunch on Wednesday, January 8th.
- All meals will be in the dining hall and drinks and snacks will be served continuously in the Great Hall during the conference.
