This is one of my favorite resources to interact with large, complex data. There are teaching resources, TED talks, seminar-style videos, and interactive tools.

A partnership between SIAM and COMAP (Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications), Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Mathematical Modeling Education (GAIMME) enables the modeling process to be understood as part of STEM studies and research, and taught as a basic tool for problem solving and logical thinking. GAIMME helps define core competencies to include in student experiences, and provides direction to enhance math modeling education at all levels. A mix of professionals wrote and reviewed to present various levels and perspectives. The GAIMME report is a freely downloadable report from both SIAM and COMAP’s websites.

Materials include the Powerpoint to be used in the workshop, along with supplementary materials for directed and open-ended activities by participants as they use the Case It simulation (Case It v6.07)
Link to the Case It home page to download Case It v6.07. (If downloading the Mac version, be sure to download the one that corresponds to the version of Mac OS that you are using. Note that "Case It v607 for El Capitan" also works with "Sierra".)
