UDL Chromosome Worksheet

Activity that explores implicit knowledge, alt-text, and long descriptions using images of chromosomes as example content.  This was used to help teachers see how images could be helpful in diagnosing misconceptions as well as the teachers' own implicit knowledge.  Images are Creative Commons licensed and can be modified for educational uses.

PhET Interactive Simulations for science

Free simulations for students to use to learn biology, chemistry, physics and earth science (and math) at all grade levels.  This is an incredibly rich site, with lesson plans for each simulation.  Simulations allow students to manipulate variables and get data.  many use HTML, some still are Java.  Powerful.
